The majority of data inputs (e.g. technology costs, new registrations by type of powertrain, energy consumption and CO2 emissions of new vehicles, etc.) have been obtained directly from an update of the EU reference scenario 2016 Energy, transport and GHG emissions : trends to 2050, Luxembourg: Publications Office of the European Union, 2016, doi:10.2833/9127, (in particular PRIMES, PRIMES-TREMOVE) with the cut-off date for adopted policies end of 2016, developed by the ICCS-E3MLab using the PRIMES-TREMOVE model. To support the assessment of policy options, quantitative tools have been used. These are described or referred to in the text in the IA report.
