additional information

EUROMOD was used to simulate the fiscal and distributional impacts of extending formal coverage by unemployment insurance to the self-employed in five Member States where they are currently excluded from the corresponding schemes, namely Greece, Croatia, Italy, Latvia and the Netherlands. Main simulations in EUROMOD were commissioned by DG Employment to Fondazione Brodolini.

The effects of adjusting, i.e. relaxing, qualifying periods (for all potential unemployed) have been quantified in dedicated microsimulations using EUROMOD by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
