SOCRATES - SOcial multi CRiteria AssessmenT of European policieS
SOCRATES has been used in the context of the Impact Assessment on ecodesign measures for local space heaters, in helping to determine the best policy option for the modification of Regulation 2015/1188. Main difficulty has been the existence of a big number of policy alternatives that could be combined in many different ways, being sometimes very tight the differences between possible policy options in terms of benefits. SOCRATES has made possible to rank the different combination of policy alternatives from most to least performant, providing for an appropriate justification for the policy option that was finally chosen.
